Bhai Bij rangoli

A Bhai Bij rangoli: a yellow thali with a diya, a bowl of laddoos and flowers, inside a red ring of white dots and big pink and purple flowers.

Colours you need

• yellow
• red
• pink
• purple
• green
• white

Steps

1. Draw a big circle for the thali, then a diya, a bowl and a flower inside it.
2. Draw a ring around the thali and eight big flowers outside it.
3. Trace every line with white powder.
4. Fill the thali yellow, the ring red with white dots, and the diya and bowl red and orange.
5. Fill the outer flowers pink and purple, and the leaves green.

With little ones: an adult draws the outline, children fill the big shapes with their fingers. Light the diyas only at the end and keep them out of reach.
